Have Your Gay Wedding In A Tropical Paradise, All Without A Passport!

Tropical weddings have always been popular, and these days some of the world’s most beautiful places are also great places for a gay wedding or a gay honeymoon. If you don’t want to bother with a passport, there’s always Hawaii, which contains some of the most beautiful real estate on the entire planet and been a popular honeymoon destination for decades. The island of Kaui (where parts of the movie Jurassic Park were filmed) is said to be particularly gorgeous. The entire Hawaiian island chain, though, is full of beautiful parks, beaches and mountain vistas that would provide a picturesque background for a gay wedding. Then afterwards, you can enjoy Hawaii’s gorgeous beaches, fine restaurants and exciting nightlife for your honeymoon. Hawaii’s got everything any couple could want from nice biking trails, live volcanoes, and one of the world’s biggest telescopes, through which the new couple can take in the entire universe. One of the best and most convenient things about going to Hawaii is that since it’s a state, you don’t need a passport to travel there, which is certainly something to think about in these days of terrorism-induced travel restrictions. Another great thing about Hawaii right now is that because of the battered economy, you’ll be able to find real deals for your airfares and accommodations. If you and your partner do some kind of bundled travel deal through an airline or hotel chain, you may be able to save even more money. However, if you’re searching for non-Hawaiian tropical splendor for your gay wedding, you should also look into Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

My reason for recommending Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands isn’t just based on the fabulous food, music, beaches and local culture to be found in both places, it’s also because they’re the last two Caribbean destinations you can travel to from the U.S. without a passport. And in either case, it would be money well spent. If you choose Puerto Rico, one of the best beaches for gays and straights alike is: Ocean Park Beach. Plus, San Juan and the other cities in Puerto Rico boast antique Spanish charm, incredible rain forests close enough to do day trips in, and world class dining, especially if you love seafood. If you’re interested in getting married or honeymooning in either Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, check out these two websites for all kinds of useful info for travelers: http://www.usvitourism.vi/ and http://www.gotopuertorico.com/. Be sure to pack your sunscreen and your snorkel for exploring those pristine Caribbean waters.
